A Few More Poems

I spent one of the best nights of my life in Limerick. The family I was visiting took me to a pub owned by a cousin, and he was so delighted to see us that he kept bringing us big baskets of mussels and chips and telling stories about the pub. There was drinking and music and discussion of literature and everything you would see in a bad romantic comedy about a single American woman going to Ireland to find herself, except for the romance.

I have nothing constructive to add to this post, but Limerick is a great city, even though there are only so many things that rhyme with “bucket.”

  1. I wasn’t aware you’d had among your ranks of followers the future author of The Good Crook and Bobwhite.
