Geez, I really did get some cool sketches at Comic-Con that year. Modern Tales had a table and there were a bunch of other webcomics people around. Obviously, that’s me as a sprite trying to cover Mell’s nakedness. It’s true, she did get drawn naked the most. I eventually drew her naked in Narbonic, but I drew all the main characters naked at some point. Discreetly covered, of course, as this is a family strip. Depending on the family.

I’ve always loved Dirk Tiede’s manga renditions of the characters, and I think his Dave is really hot here. Dirk did an inked and colored version, posted in an upcoming Sunday strip, and it’s even hotter.

This might be the only art I own by Dylan Meconis. That’s so wrong.

Dave’s lines about being dissected and humiliated refer to other sketches I got at Comic-Con. They’ll appear on a future Sunday. Helen is surprisingly open about acknowledging Dave as “cute” here. I had the idea in the back of my head that the Sunday versions of Helen and Dave are already in a relationship and possibly married. They’re more casual with each other than their counterparts in the daily strips.

Always Mell!  She’s the one fans ship!
She adds a whole new meaning to comic “strip”!
But she asks, why she’s always the one
That gets drawn nekkid with guns!
Yeah, she’s always nekkid with …

    Although she’s really hot!
    She stuns!
    Shapely bust and steely buns,
Mell gets drawn nekkid with guns!
Yeah, she’s always nekkid with guns!

  2. It’s cheating to say that Dave was drawn naked in the previous storyline, because that was technically Artie. You know it isn’t quite the same thing!

  3. Hm. Maybe the Sunday version of the characters are actually the future versions – as in, the characters after the strip ends. ‘Cause Artie can still go back to being a gerbil, and once Dave starts reverting back to his former personality a bit… and we already know they can time-travel… just sayin’.

  4. It’s a shame that most of these links in the Sundays are now broken. I would really have liked to read some of these comics.

  5. Does anyone know if No Stereotypes is still around and, if so, where I can find it? It’s killing me that there are all these links to comics with great art, yet I can’t actually read them because Modern Tales is down.

  6. Looks like not even the Wayback Machine archived No Stereotypes (except for a single page),
It’s too bad I got here too late to actually read most of the stuff linked.
