Hey, that gas mask is pretty awesome! Around the time I was drawing this, my friend Jason Thompson had taken to wearing a gas mask on a fairly regular basis, and his example probably inspired me. I don’t believe it looks all that much like an actual WWII gas mask as described in Jeff’s story, but it’s cool anyway.
Forget the gas mark, check out those guardrails! Did Helen steal them from the Victorian arc when she built this place?

does “on a fairly regular basis” mean “at conventions and parties” or “on the streets and at work” ?
“Thinking like yogurt” means that, although you may be a bit thick, you’re still cultured.
Wait. Jason was wearing gas mask regularly? I presume not cosplaying Sandman?

Sorry, gas masks always do that to me.
