The Astonishing Excursions of Helen Narbon &Co., Chapter Twenty-Three.

Should I have used “twilight sleep” instead of “anesthesia”? Nah, too confusing. It’s best this way.

That surgical instrument is very unsettling.

One of the best chapter titles. This is also perhaps the most Girl Genius-y installments of Narbonic, if only because of all the corsets.

Andrew likes this chapter. A lot. I don’t pry further.

I like it less, because it took a looong time to draw.

“Cunning plans” has got to be another “Blackadder” reference. I was watching “Blackadder” a lot around this time. Man, is that a good show.

  1. Pim ought to reposition his gaze in panel 2. At least Dave is a proper gentleman, although his freedom of neck movement may have something to do with that.

  2. “Baldric, you wouldn’t recognize a cunning plan, if it painted itself purple and danced naked upon a harpsichord, singing, ‘cunning plans are here today’.”

  3. Speaking of “too confusing”, your commentaries on this particular Sunday appear to be cycled to their respective next pages. Which, curiously, means that we have a comment from a non-final page.

What’s not to like? Bondage, naughty tentacles, brain-swapping, lacy corsets… What more could anyone want, nyao?

Oh, wait. Where’s Mel in a corset all tied up ? {whimpering plaintively} Don’t I get some eye-candy too, nyaa?
